Tsfat Poem

Wednesday June 25th
I absolutely love Tsfat. Below, a poem, by me.

Here is
children’s laughter
white washed stone
ruins and staircases and
Roads
to : from
the past
Stairwells
ascending/descending

Here is
a place where
Jacob and the Angels and
his ladder would call home.

Children’s laughter

running down the winding streets

bouncing off
rock made of cloud marble.

“Study the brickwork, study the fortification” of a city
built with
--the eyes of dreamers
--the hands of seekers
--the hearts of pious lovers.

It is me
swirling in the eye
of the Chamsa.

Here I grow wings—
Large ones, made of white clouds and cream marble.
And when I stand on the roof of
the Great Artist’s house,
I know
that I have returned
Home.
